Hope for children

We are living in an increasingly diverse world, and this is a wonderful gift. Our children attend schools with children who are much different than they are. For example, more children are being raised by single parents, by same sex parents and in blended families. Many children are non-native English speakers and some are children with disabilities (both physical and mental)Parents teach children how to brush their teeth, to comb their hair, to be responsible and to be successful. We do so by introducing and reinforcing behavior that helps achieve these goals. We should do the same when it comes to appreciating diversity. It is only then that we can move from tolerance to acceptance. (Metzler  2009).  

As a parent and a teacher my goal is to help children understand and respect each others cultures, similarities and differences.  Everyone is entitled to their own view, cultures, traditions and religion,  Educating children on how each other live allows us to accept others and respect how we each live.  We need to appreciate and support each each other in order for us to live in equality,

It has been a great pleasure to work work with all my colleagues, learn their cultures and backgrounds.  This has taught me to grow and step outside my own comfort zone.  I wish you all the best on your journey

    Hello Stephanie
    I loved that picture you post. Some time we just have to be reminded just hoe diverse our schools are getting. You know in the past we only had about four different set to worry about. As you said it’s a blessing and a wonderful thing. It lets me know that God intention is for us to be friends with people that are different than us. I would like to say that its been fun also and Merry Christmas. I hope to see you in our next course. If not, May God bless you as you journey on toward your mark.

Research Simulation

                             Why is your simulation important to the field of early  childhood? My simulation regarding the difference in quality of early  childhood education between high and low income levels is  important because All children should be afforded the same quality  education no matter what their economic status.  Once we can identify the gaps in quality we can fill the voids and ensure all children are provided the same education.  If you were to conduct your simulation proposal, who would benefit? Immunization

According to vaccines.gov safe and effective vaccines have eliminated some diseases like small pox and Polio which in the past have killed thousands of people.  New vaccines are only releases and administered after long and careful research.  Getting vaccinated and following a schedule can protect not only children and adults but also babies who may not be of age to receive certain vaccines. (vaccine.gov). The importance of getting vaccinated against worldwide illnesses before traveling outside the United states is extremely important to protect yourself from diseases we do not have in our country and to ensure not bringing the illness back to our country and causing an epidemic.
