Creative Steps, a new program of University Settlement as of September 2013, offers a play-based, child-centered curriculum with enrichment classes in music, yoga, and art. 


Coach- Early Head Start

The Early Head Start program provides comprehensive child and family development services through home visits, center-based classrooms and family child care settings in three programs in Fort Greene, Brooklyn and the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The program provides family support services and advocacy to low-income, pregnant women and families with children birth to four years old. This position supports effective teaching strategies in the home and in Family Child Care Provider environments that lead to positive outcomes for children within the context of a collaborative relationship with the parent/caregiver and child.



I selected these jobs because each position possesses the ability to empower immigrant families,  providing them resources they are entitled to.  AS a community advocate need to help provide  the families the ability to access these resources to help support their families, education and health care.

Research Simulation

                             Why is your simulation important to the field of early  childhood? My simulation regarding the difference in quality of early  childhood education between high and low income levels is  important because All children should be afforded the same quality  education no matter what their economic status.  Once we can identify the gaps in quality we can fill the voids and ensure all children are provided the same education.  If you were to conduct your simulation proposal, who would benefit? Immunization

According to vaccines.gov safe and effective vaccines have eliminated some diseases like small pox and Polio which in the past have killed thousands of people.  New vaccines are only releases and administered after long and careful research.  Getting vaccinated and following a schedule can protect not only children and adults but also babies who may not be of age to receive certain vaccines. (vaccine.gov). The importance of getting vaccinated against worldwide illnesses before traveling outside the United states is extremely important to protect yourself from diseases we do not have in our country and to ensure not bringing the illness back to our country and causing an epidemic.
